What are the EU restrictions for carrying liquids in hand baggage?
The EU rules for liquids in hand baggage are:
- Maximum 100 ml per package: liquids, gels and similar products, such as cosmetics and drinks, must not exceed 100 millilitres per container.
- Resealable plastic bag: all packages must be in a transparent, re-sealable plastic bag of no more than 1 litre. Each passenger is allowed to carry one bag.
- Security screening: the bag containing liquids must be shown separately at screening.
- Pre-check purchases: liquids purchased before the security check are not allowed on board.
- Post-check purchases: liquids bought after the check are allowed on board if they are in a sealed bag to be opened at the destination.
- Baby food and medicines: baby food and medicines (with medical certificate) for use during the flight are allowed.
