What are the conditions for an emergency exit seat type?

For certain safety reasons, the following categories of passengers are not allowed to sit at the emergency exit and can be moved by the cabin crew, this without any right to refund or compensation: 

  • Passengers who do not speak Dutch, French or English; 
  • Passengers under 12 years of age (accompanied or unaccompanied); 
  • Passengers travelling with baby; 
  • Passengers travelling with a pet; 
  • Passengers with limited mobility or other physical or mental disabilities; 
  • Passengers who are pregnant; 
  • Passengers with seat belt extensions; 
  • Passengers physically unable to help others or act quickly.
