What are the formalities for a child travelling alone?
Documents a your child needs:
- His own travel documents (identity card/passport)
- Mandatory assistance sheet (which you fill in at the airport)
- A travel authorisation from the municipality stating that the child may travel alone
What authorisation does the child need?
There are no Belgian or international parental authorization forms for travel with minors but TUI strongly recommends that you arrange an official travel authorisation with your municipality
- If the child is traveling with one parent (as in the case of divorced parents): accompanying parent must carry a written agreement from the other parent, confirmed by the municipality
- If the child travels alone: consent from both parents
Important:
- Contact the embassy or consulate of the destination country for any additional requirement
- For Portugal, a travel authorisation is mandatory for minors!
