Can I always recline the seatback?

  • You can almost never recline the seatback in seats by the emergency exit, or in seats in the row in front of it.
  • The armrests of chairs at the emergency exit can also almost never be raised. 
  • Chairs in front of a partition, such as in restrooms, cannot be reclined, or only to a very limited extent. 

If in doubt, contact  or choose a seat type that is not adjacent to the emergency exit. If you fail to comply with the regulations, our check-in staff or crew on board will assign you another seat. You will not be entitled to a refund or compensation.
